Felony Aggravated Assault Dismissed at First Court Appearance in Nashville

- Background investigation: Kennedy identified the complaining witness’s criminal history and documented that his client had no prior criminal convictions.
Drawing on his experience as a former Davidson County domestic violence prosecutor, Kennedy met with the assigned assistant district attorneys before the first court date and presented the evidence.
Case Outcome
The District Attorney’s Office dismissed the entire aggravated assault charge at the client’s first court appearance.
Rather than requiring multiple court dates, the defense’s early investigation and presentation of evidence resulted in a complete dismissal at the initial appearance.
